[ To V1's credit it will actually stay in its room so it can be found after two days have passed, instead of fucking off to go fishing or something.. ]

[The two days go by and Tadashi has been staring at the schematics trying to figure V1 out. Hey what the fuck. For real.

But he shows up, what meager tools he could scrounge up in this world and knocks on the door. He's only a little nervous. He's built his own stuff, sure, he built Baymax but only after a lot of trial and error. Als Baymax wasn't a fully sentient being with organic material mixed on so maybe he's a little stressed right now by the thought of this??

But he said he would. And he's already here. So Tadashi knocks.]

[ V1 opens the door almost immediately, peering at Tadashi for a moment before stepping aside so he can enter.

It doesn't bother to check that the door is closed behind him or anything, clearly not something very concerned with what little security that might give. It plops itself on the bed and folds its wings, looking at Tadashi expectantly for what he might want to do next. ]

[It's different seeing V1 at a time like this, in a low stress environment not being hunted for sport. V1 is... tall? Taller than Tadashi really thought it would be.

He steps inside, making sure the door is closed behind him since V1 seemingly left him to it. (That's what happened just now right?)]

Vi, hi, um. Good to see you? [That's okay to say?] I brought some tools but I may not have everything I need for this. Are you sure it's still all right for me to do this?

[ It tilts its head at him, as if to say why wouldn't it be? While it has no innate trust of humans, he'd offered, and it feels very confident in its ability to express its displeasure if he does something it doesn't want.

It fishes out its cable, plugging it in and plugging the other end into its Leaf. It proceeds to show him the screen, with text scrolling by. ]

[Tadashi watches it curiously, seeing how it plugs itself into the Leaf, then reads the text.]

Got it, don't pull anything out...

Probably nonessential functions? [Though 'nonessential' for a being like this is tough to say.] I can start with legs or arms or something. Make sure they don't need any tune-ups.

[ V1's schematics had indicated a certain bent towards efficiency; it was a tremendously self-sufficient design, stripped down to only essential components. Part of what made V1 so aggressively protective of its own systems was that there was very little it could afford to lose.

Still, despite all this, it sticks out an arm for inspection in a practiced little motion, clearly having gone through this sort of thing before. Not while sitting on a bed, of course, but maintenance is maintenance.

Despite the wear and tear it's accumulated on its jaunt through Hell and here, it seems to be relatively intact still, with no obvious damage on the outside of the offered arm. Inside, however, might be a different thing altogether - but Tadashi will have to open it up to see that. ]

[V1 offers its arm and Tadashi takes a breath before grabbing a small ply-metal to take the cover off. It's easy enough to dig inside, just moving a few wires out of the way here and there to get a good read on how it actually looks versus schematics.

Easy enough still to start adjusting a few things; not unplugging or rewriting anything, but just adjusting where the wires sit so there's more air flow between everything.]

I'll do my best to keep everything in tact, just let me know if anything feels wrong.

[Gonna go down the whole arm like this up to the shoulder, yep.]

[ It nods obediently, watching Tadashi curiously as he opens its arm up and does a bit of cable management. It brings back memories of being looked over and tested; in adherence to what it had done as a demonstration during those memories, it opens and closes its palm, flexes hybrid musculature to show everything is in working order.

Tadashi will find that the deeper he probes into the arm, the more those wires become something between tubes and sinew, biomechanical components that meld near seamlessly into cables and muscles. They pulse, faintly.

V1 doesn't object to the treatment; Tadashi can examine it as closely as he likes. There doesn't seem to be anything terrible going on except a bit of cable mismanagement, a few cables with tears or bruises. Remarkably good shape for not having had maintenance for many years. ]

[aaaahhhhHHHHHH This is terrifying and fascinating and nerve-wracking all at once. he sees it all, manages to just. Adjust the wires he feels comfortable touching into proper management. Closes that art up and looks to V1 to see if there's any discomfort.

There doesn't seem to be any, so he motions for the other arm.]

Okay, um. Anything hurt or- feel worse?
